Brilliant Colors of Fall Home Tour 2020

If you’re joining me from Up to Date Interiors welcome and thanks for dropping by!

As is for many, Fall is my absolute favourite time of year. There’s a sense of calm and cozy that I love about it, plus Thanksgiving and we also celebrate birthdays for myself, my husband and my younger daughter, each of us one week apart! It’s something I look forward to all year.

When it comes to Fall decorating I keep it very simple as is my signature style. This year I wanted to inject a pop of colour and try something different. The palette I chose as you’ll see throughout the photos, includes predominantly blush, gray and rust colours.

I had a few thrifted pieces that I recently found including a vase, a ceramic dish and a decorative pot that were all waiting for a a little makeover. And along with the thrifted finds, I purchased a bunch of little pumpkins from the dollar store that I also painted in the same palette. These are the items I used to create a Fall tablescape but these pieces can all be used throughout the home throughout all seasons.

In addition to the spray painted decor I used some bull rush stems also from the dollar store and I simply took them apart to use on each place setting individually. For the dinnerware I wanted a very organic rustic look this Fall, so I used some bamboo reusable plates and bowls. They add such amazing texture and warmth to the tablescape!

As for the rest of the table setting, I used my favourite linen napkins and tablecloth from Magic Linens and my amazing thrifted candlesticks from Goodwill and placed some gray candles. For the vases I used some stems I had dried from previous arrangements, all in keeping with a cozy warm and rustic feel.

I kept the glassware very similar and I actually picked up these glasses from the as-is section from Ikea. Aside from their returned items and sample pieces they often have discontinued items at great prices like these cute glasses that were super cheap. The flatware also has a rustic feel with the wood and they’re from Simons.

Here’s a look at how I used some of the pieces along with the painted pumpkins on the mantel to create a simple look for the season. Hope you enjoyed this Fall inspiration and tablescape.
