DIY Candle Holder

When you can’t find the perfect candle centerpiece, you make it yourself! I had a vision for a modern wooden candle holder and so I designed one and my husband made it. This piece is perfect for all year long, add in some seasonal touches and it creates such an inviting feel for gatherings.

The best part about customizing a piece like this is that you can choose the size and type of wood. We went with a piece of white oak as it matches our flooring. This one measures 2″ high, 1 1/2″ wide, 36″ long. It was sanded using 220 grit sandpaper between coats and finished off with a coat of Varathane in satin finish http://www.rustoleum.com. The holes for the candles were drilled, evenly spaced, for a total of 12 candles.

Overall I wanted a modern sleek feel with ultra simplistic vibes. I love that you can change out the candles for a completely different look. The white candles I used here are from http://Ikea, they’re unscented, measuring 13 3/4″. For an inexpensive diy, this certainly makes a great impact on your dining table or flanked against a mirror for that beautiful glow.
