Halloween Tablescape Inspiration

I must admit I’ve never been big on Halloween decorating other than a few pumpkins on the porch but creating tablescapes is another story so here’s a look at my simple Halloween table decor. This setup is perfect for everyone, be it a group of friends or a spooky family gathering. Given our current times, more and more people are celebrating Halloween with small parties at home and a simple tablescape is the perfect way to set the mood.

Most of the items I used were recycled or things I already had on hand. The candle centrepieces just may be my favourite part which involved reusing black wine bottles!! Let’s start with a closer look at those candle holders…

Believe it or not I came up with the idea for these candles during Christmas when I was serving some True Crimes wine. I immediately thought the black bottles were so sleek and I started collecting them from that point on. I simply removed the labels and used black candles to make the perfect candle arrangement!

The other part of the centerpiece is this fun black gauze cloth. It works perfectly as a layering piece and can be reused year after year.

Next up is the place settings. Again using what I already had, I layered large white dishes along with black salad plates and bowls. I wanted to keep the black theme going so I went with black takeout cutlery that I had from my plastic cutlery stash and they can be reused too. I added cute little felt bats over the bowls to complete the place setting. The bats are from the dollar store and the black plates/bowls are from Ikea.

Another fun addition is this cauldron which I use to give out Halloween candy, but it makes a great bread basket with handle and all! Lastly I filled in little bats and faux pumpkins throughout the table to finish the look.

Here’s a look at my completed simple Halloween tablescape.

And the final touch were the little Halloween bats that have been the biggest hit these last few years. I positioned them against the wall by the dining table. They have stickers on the back and can be easily removed. They’re so fun, I love using them throughout the house. Here’s a link for the black sticker bats.

Thanks for reading and Happy Halloween!!
